We would like to share some important updates regarding your Altium Designer licenses.
From 1 July, 2024, Altium will no longer offer new or renewed Subscription Services for perpetual licenses. Altium will honor all previously purchased subscriptions for perpetual licenses through the end of the term for such subscription.
Our decision aligns with industry trends and reflects the significant value our customers may now realize from using the Altium 365 cloud platform. This change will enable you to reduce your upfront costs when adding Altium Designer capacity and enable Altium to invest more in product development to benefit its customers.
After 1 July 2024, a Time-Limited License (TLL) will be the only way to enjoy the winning combination of the industry-leading Altium 365 cloud platform, support, latest software updates, and upgrades.
To facilitate this transition, we have designed a conversion path to enhance the value of your previous investment if you choose to convert to the Altium TLL model before 1 July, 2024. This conversion path is designed to offer you significant advantages, including multi-year cost assurance, ensuring you receive the most value from your investment. Additionally, before 1 July, 2024, you still have an opportunity to renew your Subscription Services for one final 12-month contract.
Our Offer to You
We are offering a special conversion package for you:
1. Cost-Effective Conversion: Convert to a Time-Limited License at the cost of your current subscription, approximately 50% less than the current published annual price for Time-Limited Licenses.
2. 3-Year Price Lock: Have the option to renew the Time-Limited Licenses at the same price for two additional years. After this period ends, renewals will be at the current published price.
3. Subscription Level Up:
• Standard Subscription Services will be upgraded to Pro subscriptions at no additional charge for three years from when the conversion
begins.
• Pro subscriptions will be upgraded to Continental Floating at no additional charge for three years from when the conversion begins.
4. Training Benefits: Receive one year free access to our online training hub.
5. Additional Licensing: Add up to five additional Time-Limited Licenses at the discounted promotional price during a three-year period.
Take advantage to ensure a smooth transition and continue enjoying the full benefits of your Altium Designer licenses and the Altium 365 cloud platform. Of course, you may choose to continue to receive previously purchased Subscription Services for your perpetual licenses through to the end of the term for such subscriptions, but by doing so you will forego the significant benefits mentioned above which are available only as part of the special conversion package we are offering to our customers.

What happens to my existing perpetual license(s) if I choose to do nothing?
• You can continue to use your perpetual license in its current released state indefinitely, but from 1 July, new versions and feature enhancements will no longer be available for perpetual licenses, and you can no longer access Altium 365.
What are my options for obtaining the newest version of Altium
Designer if I do not switch?
• You can purchase a term-based license or a new perpetual license without a subscription contract. Once you transition your existing licenses to a Term-Based License, you may renew every 12 months to maintain access to the latest releases and continuous enhancements, along with uninterrupted customer support.
What are the benefits of switching to a Time-Limited License?
• Customer Access and Affordability: Reduces upfront costs, making high-quality software accessible to a broader range of users, including small businesses and individual professionals.
• Investments in Product Development: Ensures a steady and predictable revenue stream, allowing consistent investment in product development and customer support, delivering continuous improvements and cutting-edge features.

Is Time-Limited Licensing a named user model?
• No, there is no change to how the licenses may be used by you and your users.

What if I have both Perpetual and Time-Limited Licenses?
• The transition to exclusively Time-Limited licenses streamlines license management, reduces upfront costs for adding new users, and ensures consistent access to the latest features and updates.
Will there be any downtime during the transition?
• No. The transition process is seamless and will not disrupt your workflow.
What are the payment options for Time-Limited Licensing?
• Time-Limited access to Altium Designer is sold in 12-month increments and billed under our standard payment terms.
Can I manage and track my Time-Limited licenses?
• Yes. You can manage and track your Time-Limited licenses through the Altium License Manager.
Can I buy support for my existing perpetual licenses?
• No.
What are my options at the end of the promotional period?
• At the end of the promotional period, you can choose to renew at the published Time-Limited Licensing price at that time. If you do not renew, you still retain full use rights to the perpetual licenses at the version you obtained pursuant to your last perpetual subscription contract.
If I add a new Time-Limited Licensing during the promotional period, will my price for the new seats also be locked in?
• No, only the licenses you transition under this Offer or TimeLimited Licenses added at the time of transition (limit of five additional Time-Limited Licenses) benefit from the price lock.
What happens if I decide to switch from a Perpetual License to a Time-Limited Licensing later?
• You may switch to a Term-Based License at any time for the published Time-Limited Licensing rates.
Can I still buy perpetual licenses after the transition?
• Yes, but after 1 July, 2024, you will no longer be able to purchase a subscription contract for a perpetual license.
